Jeremy Bingman; Region VI Director
Jeremy pledged Alpha Alpha Chapter (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) in the fall of 1996. He served Alpha Alpha as Secretary, Treasurer, 4th Vice President - Membership, 2nd Vice President - Pledge Trainer, Scouting Liaison, and Chapter President and was awarded the Chapter Distinguished Service Key, Kinetic Leadership Knot, and Robert E. Lee Award for exceptional service (named for the Chapter's first President). Currently, he is serving as the Region VI Director. He previously served in Section 51 as Section Chair and Conference Advisor and in Section 48 as Service Chair and Section Representative and received the Section 48 and 51 Distinguished Service Keys. He also served in Region VI as the Extension Coordinator, the Chicagoland Area Alumni Association as Vice President - Membership, the 2002 Region VI Alumni Voting Delegate, and as the 2010 National Convention Legislative Director. Jeremy is also an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow. Professionally he works as the Chief Implementation Officer for yHLsoft.
Zach Brodt; Region V Historian/Archivist
Zach Brodt (Beta, Spring 2005), is an advisor at Beta Chapter, the Region V Historian, and a member of the National History and Archives Committee. He is the University Archivist at the University of Pittsburgh. Zach lives in Pittsburgh with his wife. Lauren, and daughters, Colby and Reagan.
Lisa Coop; Section 31 Chair
Lisa initiated with Alpha Gamma Chapter in 1994. She has served as a Section 52 volunteer and later as Section 52 and Section 31 Chair. After an absence of several years, she resumed the role of Section 31 Chair in 2015. Lisa is a recipient of the Section 31 Distinguished Service Key.
Marty Davis-Merritts; Chapter Advisor, Lambda Phi Chapter
Marty Davis-Merritts pledged Lambda Phi chapter at Eastern Michigan University in the Fall of 1984. Upon graduation in 1987 she became Awards Chair for Section 54 in which capacity she served for 15 years. She also started serving as an advisor for Lambda Phi. In 2002, upon the election of brother/husband Scott Merritts to Section 54 Chair, Marty stepped down from section staff, however continued to serve as Lambda Phi’s alumni advisor, and has continued to serve in that capacity for the past 29 years. In 2005 she became a faculty advisor to Gamma Pi at the University of Michigan where she has worked for the past 25 years filling various roles in cancer and health behavior research. She enjoys reading, gardening and torturing Scott and their 2 cats.
Mike DeLuka; Region VI Volunteer Development Chair
Mike initiated with Epsilon Lambda Chapter at Michigan Technological University in 1997. He has served as a Section 55 volunteer and Region VI as the Service Chair. He currently serves as the Region VI Director of Volunteer Development and as an advisor to Lambda Phi Chapter at Eastern Michigan University.
Melissa DeLuka; Membership & Extension Director
Melissa initiated with Epsilon Lambda Chapter at Michigan Technological University in 1997. She has served as a Section 54 volunteer, the Section 55 Chair, the Region VI Operations Coordinator, the Region VI Membership Chair, and as chair of the national membership sub-committee of the national membership & extension committee. She currently serves as the national Membership & Extension Director and as an advisor to Lambda Phi Chapter at Eastern Michigan University. Brandyn Fairchild pledged Theta Theta chapter at Centre College (of Kentucky) in Spring 2008 and has served in a variety of active and alumni capacities since, most notably as Section 67 Chair in Central & Eastern Kentucky from 2011-2014. He currently serves as an APO Impact Live Coordinator, as a 2016 NCSC Advisor, and as an APO LEADS Achieve Director. He is forever humbled to have received the Section 67 Distinguished Service Key (DSK), along with having been awarded the Chapter DSK and honored as the Spring 2014 Pledge Class Namesake by his home chapter.
Doug Fuller; Central Area Training Coordinator, Presenter Development Team
Doug initiated as a member of Alpha Alpha Chapter in the fall of 1999. He served as an advisor to the extension group at Wayne State as it worked through the process of rechartering the Zeta Pi Chapter. He then served as Section 55 Chair from 2009 to 2013 and as the Region VI Extension Coordinator. He currently serves as the Central Area Training Coordinator on the national presenter development team and as an APO LEADS Achieve Trainer. Doug is a recipient of the Section 55 Distinguished Service Key. In his spare time, Doug is a pinball wizard.
Kelly Fuller, CMP; Omega Epsilon '02
Kelly pledged Omega Epsilon Chapter at Illinois Wesleyan University during the Fall 2002 semester. She served in several chapter offices including VP of Membership, Treasurer, and Chapter President. Kelly was honored to receive the Chapter Distinguished Service Key from Omega Epsilon in the Spring of 2004. She went on to graduate and become a life member in 2006, along with joining the Section 51 Volunteer Alumni Staff. Kelly served as a Section Representative from 2006-2009 and served as the Section 51 Chair from 2009 - 2014. She received the Section 51 Distinguished Service Key in 2014. Most recently, Kelly served as an advisor on the 2014 National Convention Steering Committee and is also an APO LEADS Director for LAUNCH. In addition, she is a Torchbearer and enjoys presenting workshops and offering conference and event planning support to chapters throughout her Section and Region. Professionally, Kelly is a certified meeting professional (CMP) and plans global meetings and events as an Account Manager for Creative Group in Schaumburg, IL.
Jacob "Budda" Hagman; Chapter Advisor, Delta Gamma Chapter
Jacob Hagman, known as Buddha in the APO world, is going on 15 years of involvement in this outstanding organization. Originally helping recharter two chapters in (Tau Upsilon, UW-Platteville & Beta Theta, UW-Madison) in Section 27 and briefly serving as a Section Chair in Section 27. After many years of involvement in Region 9, Jake took his talents to Delta Gamma at Ohio University. Serving as a chapter advisor for 8 years, Jake has seen Delta Gamma go through many changes on the way to becoming the strong organization it is today. Jake's areas of expertise in APO include: Risk Management, transitioning from active to advisor, volunteering in APO, and social media communication.
When not being involved in APO, Buddha likes to spend time with his wife and learning about Thomas the Train from his 4 year-old son.
Patrick Higgins; Vice Chair, National Scouting and Youth Service Sub-Committee of the National Service Committee
Patrick currently serves the Fraternity as Vice Chair of the National Scouting and Youth Service Committee, Region V Finance Chair, and as a member of the National Finance Committee. He is a recipient of the Herbert G. Horton Service to Youth award and is part of APO's Society of Life Members. Professionally, Patrick is a District Director with the Simon Kenton Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Maggie Katz; Past National President, Alpha Phi Omega
Maggie pledged Gamma Pi Chapter at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in fall 1980 and re-pledged in fall 2000. She served Section 54 as treasurer (1987-1989) and chair (1989-1994). She served on the Board of Directors as Region VI Director(1994-1998), Program Director (1998-2002) and Vice President (2002-2006). Maggie was elected President by the delegates of the 2006 National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, and was re-elected by the 2008 National Convention delegates in Boston. Maggie is a Life Member, Silver Founder's Circle donor and a member of the Blue and Gold Society. She was awarded Distinguished Service Keys from Gamma Pi Chapter, Section 54, and Region VI. She currently serves as advisor o Gamma Pi Chapter and Zeta Pi Chapter (rechartered 2006) at Wayne State University. She has a B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan (1984) and an M.B.A. in marketing from Eastern Michigan University (1996). Maggie is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Alpha Gamma Delta International Women's Fraternity. She resides in Livonia, Michigan, with her two cats.
Melody Martin; Chair, Transition Task Force
Melody Martin initiated Delta Alpha at the University of Cincinnati in 1997. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Master's degree in Project Management from Aspen University. She has served in many volunteer position including Section 56 Chair (2002-2004), Region V Director (2011-2012), and Alumni Relations & Internal Volunteer Development Program Director (2013-2014). She is currently serving as the Chair of the Board Transition Task Force. Melody is a member of the Society of Life Members, a Diamond Torchbearer, and a contributor to the Leaders in Service Campaign. Professionally, Melody works as a Quality Control Manager for a corrugate packaging company in Maumee, Ohio. The majority of her time this Summer has been spent chauffeuring her two kids to the baseball/softball fields.
Scott Merritts; Region VI Volunteer and Advisory Chair, Lambda Phi Chapter
Scott Merritts pledged Lambda Phi Chapter in the fall 1987. After graduation in 1991, Scott joined Section 54 Staff and held many positions over his 15 years on staff. He was elected to Section 54 Chair from 2002 to 2005, when he split the section to Section 53 and 55. He’s held many positions at the region and national levels, including APO LEADS Coordinator. Scott was an advisor to five National Convention Committees, and the 2014 National Convention Steering Committee. He is in his 23rd year as an advisor to Lambda Phi chapter at Eastern Michigan University.
Ginny Milne; Region V Membership Chair
Ginny Milne pledged APO Spring 2003 at Case Western/Theta Upsilon. Transferred membership to Epsilon Psi at Kent State for a year of graduate school and remained involved in APO as part of the Louisville National Convention Planning Committee and then as Section 59 chair for 3 years. Moved to Pittsburgh and became involved as an advisor at the Lambda Omega Chapter at California University of PA and served as section 66 chair. Currently serves as Region V Membership Chair and Section Chair Mentor as well as as an advisor to Pittsburgh NCSC. Awarded a Chapter DSK from Theta Upsilon, a Section 59 DSK and Pledge Class namesake at Epsilon Psi. Married to fellow TY brother, Colin Milne with whom she parents Lambda Omega's mascot, Jack. Professionally, Ginny is a clinical audiologist for UPMC and teaches a graduate level lab at Pitt.
Dorothy Stewart; Associate Dean of Students at the University of Detroit Mercy
Dorothy Stewart is Associate Dean of Students at the University of Detroit Mercy. She has worked in Higher Education for 24 years. She has a Masters' Degree in Political Science from University of Detroit Mercy and an Education Specialist in Higher Education Administration from Wayne State University. She has worked at Wayne State University’s Academic Success Program, worked as a Director of Student Activities at a Historical Black College, Lewis College of Business, served as a Registrar at William Tyndale College and served as Adjunct Professor teaching World Civilization I, Intro to Political Science, Ethnic Diversity, and Study Skills. She has also served as a Board Member of Lawton Career Institute. Dorothy is committed to helping students develop their skills through the co-curricular experience and has served on Committees for Retention, Strategic Planning, and Advisory Boards for the Institute for Leadership and Service and Campus Kitchens at UDM.
Dr. David Strauss; Dean of Students, Wayne State University
David Strauss has been Dean of Students at Wayne State University since January, 2002. In this role Dr. Strauss is responsible for student activities, student organizations, Greek life, student community service, parent and family programs, student government, and student conduct. Since 2012, Dr. Strauss has been an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Economics. Dr. Strauss received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Bucknell University, his Masters of Science in Education degree from Indiana University, and his doctoral degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs administration from The Ohio State University. Dr. Strauss is married and has two children, son Nate is recent graduate of Michigan State University and daughter Caroline will be a senior in high school. Dr. Strauss' hobbies include yard work and swimming and his favorite band is Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
